Empowering Kids to Explore Their Cities, One Ride at a Time
Little City Navigators is on a mission to inspire the next generation to confidently explore their urban environments through public transportation, fostering independence and environmental stewardship.
our mission
Little City Navigators empowers children to confidently explore and navigate their urban environments using public transportation. We believe that fostering independence and environmental stewardship in the next generation begins with understanding, utilizing, and advocating for the resources available within their communities. Through hands-on learning and community engagement, we inspire young minds to understand and enjoy their urban environments while learning how to improve it for the better.
ACTIVITIES
Education
We provide educational opportunties for kids around the Bay Area, teaching the basic principles of urban planning and sustainable design in accessible and creative ways using modern resources.
Summer Camp
We take kids grades 4 thru 8 to explore the Bay Area by foot and transit, teaching them to navigate their own ways through cities and breaking down the basics of using public transit. We’ll be visiting a diverse array of sites like museums, parks, and even an arcade.
Advocacy
Taking what we’ve learned from our projects, we’ll bring our findings to and work with local city governments, transit agencies, and other institutions like school boards in order to make transit and cities more accessible.
